Auchterarder Golf Club
Auchterarder Golf Club, located at the Western edge of the town, welcomes visitors all year round.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, discussions took place between the committee and town council regarding an 18-hole course. The new 18 hole course was completed in 1979.
Demand for golf in the area was increasing steadily in the 1980’s and 1990’s therefore the clubhouse has been extended several times. Deciding more expansion was needed, the clubhouse was massively reconstructed and a second level added. Players can now use the excellent changing facilities, and large Bar/Lounge and Dining room areas.
Investment in the clubhouse is being matched by steady investment in the course,as a result a 5-year drainage programme has been completed successfully. We are now into a further course improvement programme which has already delivered a magnificent new 3-tier 12th. green and the opening of a new 10th green. The course now has top quality sand-based greens which offer great flexibility in pin positioning for varied interest. There is also excellent drainage and resilience properties to minimise lost playing time due to the weather. The Club also now actively embraces the shift into the sustainable golf era
The parkland course has spectacular views towards Gleneagles and the Ochil Hills and runs along side the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles Hotel (Ryder Cup venue in 2014).
An easy walking course of 5800 yards, it has a variety of challenging holes for golfers of all abilities. Our clubhouse offers a variety of refreshments and meals throughout the day.
The facilities at the club have made it a very popular venue for casual visitors and visiting golf societies alike.
We hope to see you at Auchterarder Golf Club soon where you are assured of a warm welcome.
