The United Free Church in Auchterarder sits back off the road behind the High Street. It can easily be found as the access is next to Davidsons Pharmacy. There is little to no parking, so it is preferable to park in the street and walk to the church.
On arrival you are welcomed in the foyer by a member of the congregation who gives you one of the hymn books and a small printed flyer to show forthcoming events.
Making your way into the small but very comfortable main body of the church you will meet the other members of the congregation. They usually gather together to catch up on any recent news and happenings before the service begins and are always happy to welcome new faces.
At the beginning of the service there are announcements of forthcoming events and any other pertinent information. Then it is time for the Pastor to begin.
It is many years since I have been to service in a church and not much had changed from what I remember. There were prayers and hymns and a sermon as there had been when I was a child. What had changed was my understanding of the sermon.
If you are looking for a place of worship which is traditional and welcoming at the same time, the United Free Church in Auchterarder would be happy to welcome you.
